{"id":3678,"date":"2021-11-24T07:26:58","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T18:26:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/myautoshop.co.nz\/info\/?p=3678"},"modified":"2021-11-24T07:30:08","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T18:30:08","slug":"zen-masters-guide-to-finding-where-you-parked-your-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/myautoshop.co.nz\/info\/zen-masters-guide-to-finding-where-you-parked-your-car\/","title":{"rendered":"Zen guide to finding where you parked your car"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At My Auto Shop, we like to keep it real and relatable.&nbsp; We also like to do what we can to make things as <a href=\"https:\/\/myautoshop.co.nz\/info\/the-zen-guide-to-peaceful-family-car-trips\/\">stress free<\/a> as possible, from the workshop to the wheel.&nbsp; But what about those driven-related moments that don\u2019t place in the actual vicinity of your vehicle?&nbsp; Say, like, looking for your keys in a carpark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With new, expansive shopping malls popping up throughout New Zealand, we thought it was high time to reveal our stress-saver tips on how to find your car in a packed car park.<br><br>Whether you\u2019re taking part in a last minute dash for Christmas shopping, or just picked a day out when everyone else decided to as well, we\u2019ve all been there.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s one particular hotel\/restaurant and casino in Auckland\u2019s central (that will remain nameless) has provided more heart-pounding anxiety trying to find my car than I could ever hope to achieve at the craps table.&nbsp; And honestly, parking there really is like taking a gamble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I digress!&nbsp; So, you don\u2019t want to lose your key.&nbsp; I get it.&nbsp; I really do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a 5 things you can do to make that car search a little more stress-free:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Signs, markers or ticketing machines.\u00a0 <\/strong>Do a quick visual scan, are there any about?\u00a0 Does one have a mark or sticker on it that distinguishes it from the rest?\u00a0 Take a mental note of any visual markers and you\u2019re already one step ahead.<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Retrace thy steps.<\/strong>\u00a0 Ooh, I can\u2019t stand it when people suggest I retrace my steps.\u00a0 The reason why?\u00a0 Because it seems so obvious, coupled with the fact that I most likely haven\u2019t actually retraced my steps, and its most likely that the car is going to be there at some point along that route.\u00a0 Don\u2019t shirk the obvious!<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Key remote panic buttons are a carpark lifesaver! <\/strong>Admittedly not particularly zen, but they could save your panic levels rising. If you think you\u2019re close to your vehicle, say on the right level or within a reasonable distance from the vehicle, think about sounding your car\u2019s panic button and listening for the alarm or double-beeps.<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Sheepishly ask the parking attendant.<\/strong>\u00a0 They won\u2019t bat an eyelid!\u00a0 That\u2019s how common this is, and it\u2019s part of their job.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be too proud to ask for help.\u00a0 In some parking lots there are cameras which allow the attendants to identify the location of a vehicle based on a visual match of its registration plates.\u00a0 They might also have a sweet little mall buggy to escort you around to find the vehicle.<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Take a deep breath end and walk slowly down each row. <\/strong>\u00a0This is a very manual approach, but it never fails to work.\u00a0 You just need to slow down, keep the registration or car model that you\u2019re looking for right in the front of your mind, and you\u2019re pretty much Batman.\u00a0 You know,\u00a0 the bit when he presses a button and the Batmobile somehow just shows up?
