Door will not shut

If your door will not shut My Auto Shop can get it sorted with a General Inspection. Simply leave as many details about the issue as you can and we will contact local MTA approved mechanics that are qualified to fix the underlying issue. We'll email you quotes for an inspection within 2 working days, and where possible provide an indication as to the likely underlying issue(s) and cost to fix. You can book directly on the My Auto Shop platform in minutes.

How a General Inspection works with My Auto Shop:

Our qualified mechanic will look to complete a thorough inspection of your vehicle using the information you have provided via the My Auto Shop platform. To complete this the mechanic will usually start by plugging into your OBDII port and completing a complete diagnostic scan. This will highlight any error or warning codes your vehicle has and will provide the mechanic with information they. need to fix your problem.

Before completing any repairs the mechanic will complete a quote and look for your approval.

When your door will not shut its often as a result of a:

  • Closed Latch
  • Worn Latch
  • Damaged Door Catch
  • Broken Door Handle Cable
  • Misaligned Door

Popular services linked to a General Inspection:

Windscreen Replacement

Even though it’s staring you in the face every time you get into the car, it’s very rare you have a good look at it and appreciate the technology in a windscreen. A windscreen is generally made of 2 sheets of glass laminated together with a thin piece of plastic between them. In modern cars, the windscreen may hold even more functionality than just wind and sun protection. Display functionality, sensors and cameras are being built into windscreens to aid driving.

Brake Light Bulb Replacement

When you see something that requires you to slow down or to stop, it’s always good to let other drivers know you’re stopping.

Indicator Bulb Replacement

Letting everyone else know that you’re turning is always a good idea. To do this, car makers install indicators on your car. They’re such a good idea that the New Zealand Government made it a law that you have to have them and if they aren’t working then the Police can fine you. These small orange lights can be the difference between having an accident or not.

Headlight Restoration

Are your headlights looking dull and yellowed? Is it becoming hard to see the road while you’re driving at night? Your headlights probably need a restoration, which is nothing more than a quick clean and polish to make sure those headlights are keeping the road lit and you safe.
