Comprehensive Service
Servicing your car is important to keep it healthy and running smooth for a long time. Typically an annual service is recommended, but if you do a lot of driving, you might want to do it more frequently. If you leave it too long, you might hear funny noises, have a loss of power and or overheating. A comprehensive service with a My Auto Shop mechanic includes changing your car's oil and filter, checking relevant fluids, electrical system, suspension, steering, brakes and finally a road test to ensure it drives just right. It doesn’t matter if you drive a ute, van, station wagon or hatchback, every car needs one.
What is a service anyway?
The content of a car service can vary depending on what mechanic you go to. Typically it should include an oil change, oil filter change and then have a bunch of core mechanical, electrical and hydrophilic systems tested for functionality. Some services are more extensive than others, so be wary of super low price points, as they may not complete everything your car needs, or may add extra cost in later.
What is the difference between a Comprehensive & Basic service?
Why do you need a car service?
Your car has many systems that need maintaining as they wear out over time. A service helps to create longevity, as well as ensure your car doesn’t fail on the side of the road and leave you stuck needing a tow.
