Feathering of a tyre assessment for your Rover

If you're finding your tyres are "feathering" (when the tread ribs are worn lower/smoother on one side and higher/sharper on the other) My Auto Shop can get it sorted with a General Inspection. Simply leave as many details about the issue as you can and we will contact local MTA approved mechanics that are qualified to fix the underlying issue. We'll email you quotes for an inspection within 2 working days, and where possible provide an indication as to the likely underlying issue(s) and cost to fix. You can book directly on the My Auto Shop platform in minutes.

How a General Inspection works with My Auto Shop:

Our qualified mechanic will look to complete a thorough inspection of your vehicle using the information you have provided via the My Auto Shop platform. To complete this the mechanic will usually start by plugging into your OBDII port and completing a complete diagnostic scan. This will highlight any error or warning codes your vehicle has and will provide the mechanic with information they. need to fix your problem.

Before completing any repairs the mechanic will complete a quote and look for your approval.

When your finding your tyres are "feathering" (when the tread ribs are worn lower/smoother on one side and higher/sharper on the other) its often as a result of a:

  • Poorly aligned wheel
  • Faulty suspension

Popular services linked to a General Inspection:

Headlight Bulb Replacement

The headlights are a critically important party of your car and something that should always be in perfect working condition. Unless you’re good at driving by feel alone, your headlights are what allows you to drive safely at night.

Brake Light Bulb Replacement

When you see something that requires you to slow down or to stop, it’s always good to let other drivers know you’re stopping.

Windscreen Replacement

Even though it’s staring you in the face every time you get into the car, it’s very rare you have a good look at it and appreciate the technology in a windscreen. A windscreen is generally made of 2 sheets of glass laminated together with a thin piece of plastic between them. In modern cars, the windscreen may hold even more functionality than just wind and sun protection. Display functionality, sensors and cameras are being built into windscreens to aid driving.

Dome Light Bulb Replacement

There’s nothing worse than getting in your car at night and being unable to see anything. Your interior lights are something that you take for granted and can be a real pain when they fail. You don’t want to lose your phone down the side of the seat and have to wait till morning to find it again. So when your dome lights start to falter or give up the ghost completely, you should get them replaced. It’s not a big job so when it comes time to replace them, there’s no need to freak out.
