Treat your Subaru to a thorough health checkup!

If things have gone really wrong and your car can’t move under its own power, you’ll need a tow. There are a range of tow trucks that can take anything from a Suzuki Swift to a 18 Wheeler Truck. If you need a tow truck we can help put you in touch with not only a tow truck but also the garage that will be fixing the problem. This will get your car back on the road quickly and conveniently.

First Things First

You need to make sure that both you and your car are in a safe place to wait for the tow truck. This means getting assistance to push your car off to the side of the road with your hazard lights on. This will keep you and other motorists safe in the meantime.

How To Find a Tow Truck Near You

By using My Auto Shop, you can find a tow truck near you. By partnering with SuperCity Towing, we can give you a tow in the case of a breakdown or they can just get your car from your home to a mechanic of your choice. A tow truck can get your car from one place to another, quickly and safely.

What Kinds of Tow Trucks Are There?

There’s big ones, small ones, long ones, short ones. Some tow trucks will just lift your front wheels and tow your car on its rear wheels. Larger tow trucks will lift the whole car onto its bed and some can even take two cars at once!

A flatbed tow truck has a long steel tray that your car will be winched on to. It will then be lifted up via hydraulics and secured to the tray.

A wheel-lift tow truck has an arm that extends under the front wheels and lifts the nose or rear of the car up and allows the car to be pulled along behind the tow truck safely.

An integrated tow truck has a boom and a cradle to manage any job. As with a wheel lift tow truck, one end of the car will be lifted up and pulled along. As with a wheel lift tow truck, these trucks require that the car be rollable.

The safest bet is the flatbed option, they are also generally more expensive than the other two.

How to Book a Tow Truck

If you’re located in Auckland, you can simply punch in your car's details and when you get to the option of “I’ll Take it in Myself”, “Pick Up and Drop Off”, “Book a Tow”.
